Extra charges can be assigned to courses and help to automatically calculate the teacher's hourly rate (examples of extra charges: distance extra charge, early start extra charge). The teacher's hourly rate for the course is calculated from the sum of the teacher's hourly base rate and the extra charges selected for the course.

The extra charge amount can be specified for external and internal teachers (eg. for employees it may be different from for subcontractors). Whether a teacher qualifies as external or internal depends on what employee status the teacher has and whether that status is external or internal.
